In a recent study published by MarketingCharts.com, 88% of marketers affirmed their social media usage.

The result has revealed four social media who’ve grabbed the marketers’ most commonly used tools to promote their businesses.

Sponsored by the upcoming Social Media Success Summit 2009, the study which was conducted by Michael Stelzner found Twitter, blogs, LinkedIn, and Facebook grabbing the marketers’ top four social media picks.

Internet Marketing will brave the outbreak of the global economic crisis says Web Guru Asia

Research firm International Data Corp (IDC) predicted just a few months ago that worldwide spending on Internet advertising will grow at a phenomenal annual rate of 15 to 20 percent and reach $106.6 billion by 2011. In addition, they project that online advertising will represent almost 10 percent of the overall advertising industry and soar to 13.6 percent in the next three years. It seems like the Internet advertising market share continues to expand despite the economic crisis, the global outbreak of pessimism, depression, regression, and the fact that overall ad budgets continue to shrink.

So let’s take a closer look and try to find out more about the current mood and situation of the industry in Asia Pacific. Asian e-Marketing talked to Mr Jeff Zweig, co-founder and Chief Guru of Web Guru Asia, a regional award winning Internet consulting firm specialised in interactive marketing, online public relations and web solutions development, who is responsible for all of Web Guru Asia’s activities worldwide. When an economic contraction comes, the first thing businesses eliminate is advertising spending. Well, we’re in an economic contraction, but we’ve got a new medium for advertising that can produce trackable results: The Internet. So what happens to online ad spending? And why should companies think twice before cutting web spending?

I spoke with Mike Lazerow, CEO of Buddy Media, Lewis A. Rothkopf, VP Network Development, Brightroll, both are web ad companies. Brightroll does video and Buddy Media does social media applications that are branded. I also talked to a marketing professor at NYU, Jeffrey Green.
